Maison Marie Massimo is a designer‑led luxury atelier where every creation including made-to-measure or bespoke order is personally curated by Marie herself, a professional designer, who is available for private conversations offering you the privilege of direct consultation and in‑person meetings.
With Marie you can choose:
– Your favorite leather (calfskin, Taurillon, exotics, etc.) and its texture
– Your favorite color and shade of leather
– Hardware finish (gold, silver, etc.)
– Monogram – our logo is always hidden inside the bag to make you mysterious so no one can read the price of your bag, but upon request we can make it visible
Artisanship
Marie Massimo creations are one-of-a-kind/couture, made-to-measure or limited-edition produced in extremely limited quantities (sometimes completely unique) by the fashion house. The term “couture” comes from “haute couture”, which refers to exclusive, handcrafted fashion created by a designer.

Each Marie Massimo couture bag is entirely handcrafted by a single artisan, from the cutting of the leather and hand-painted edges to the finishing and placement of the hardware. A singular vision, realized entirely by hand.
This makes Marie Massimo couture bags so different from the factory-made bags. Meticulously woven by hand in the Maison’s signature Intreccio (it features delicately refined edge lacing), a hallmark of artisanal mastery handed down through several generations of Marie Massimo artisans in Florentine style. Third-generation artisans work to create Marie Massimo creations. They honor centuries-old techniques while creating designs that serve contemporary lifestyles.
Each creation is a study in patience and precision, often requiring days of meticulous hand-stitching, sculpting, and detailing. Depending on its complexity, a single piece may take an artisan anywhere from three days to as long as two weeks to bring to life.

Hertage… Intreccio Technique… Inspired By The Oldest Leather-Crafting/Weaving Technique
The most iconic bags are meticulously handcrafted in the Maisons’ signature Intreccio, a hallmark of artisanal mastery handed down through three generations of Marie Massimo artisans since 1920.
Marie Massimo was inspired and fascinated seeing the world’s oldest bag, 5300 years old belonging to iceman Ötzi found in Italy, in a melting glacier of Tyrolean Alps. Otzi is the oldest naturally preserved human mummy ever discovered. Attached to his belt was a small leather pouch. The edges of the belt and the bag were laced with flat sturdy leather cord for enhanced looks and durability. And this is when the maison’s signature Intreccio technique was born, later enhanced with the help of Florentine artisans.
